Monday & Classes Start!

Our first day of Teaching - hooray! Forty-six eager students arrived,
bursting the seams of the building where we are meeting (the church).
The biggest group of students (the beginners) Just about froze and the
other two groups cooked (no central heating!). But no one was complaining.

One sight of the presence of God was the answer to an advanced teacher's prayer. Only one advanced student was registered, so Carolyn prayed for at least six students. Yesterday eight students turned up!

We all had a great day, and ask you to pray that we will have wisdom about dividing up the beginner class into two. Space is a problem as well as the need to split a teaching team.

Today it all came together. Well, Uta's suitcase was still in delivery; and their number was not in service. Heiko's devotion was lengthy and a bit intricate, but it did include a scientific perspective. At ten minutes into class time Carolyn and Heiko's level three class had collapsed to zero members. The one returnee had requested transfer to level two. Had we frightened them away, or had we bored them away? Then some started to show up. In the end, six, the number Carolyn had prayed for, were happily in attendance. Susan got a new number for the delivery service; and hope revives. Two thirds of the students come from four churches. Many must have suffered some discouragement, as it appears from their journals that they are being revitalized by our sessions. A good number of Roma (gypsy) have joined the classes. The Roma have developed a rapidly growing independent church of their own. During the half time production Carolyn observed almost universal keen interest in the skit. A driver has phoned as he can not find the delivery address for the suitcase. Later in the dark of the evening two cars meet near a park, and the delivery of the errant suitcase finally goes down. Back at the church, to accommodate the large number of students Sue has initiated a construction project to turn the balcony into another classroom. Today it all came together.

Nice to see such a large group of students, praying that everything goes well and that God's work is done.
